The Iron Claw Review: The Greatest Wrestling Movie Of All Time?
If you’re even a casual wrestling fan, you’ve probably heard of the Curse of the Von Erich’s. One of the most infamous true wrestling tales, the Von Erich’s were a wrestling dynasty from Texas that were among the brightest stars in the business in the early eighties. There were five wrestling Von Erich brothers, Kevin, Kerry, David, Mike and Chris. They were the sons of Fritz Von Erich, himself a former villain turned baby face, who raised the boys to be champions. By the early 90s, four of the five brothers would be dead.
Sean Durkin’s The Iron Claw is a riveting account of the rise and fall of this wrestling Dynasty. Unusually for us here on JoBlo Originals, we’re going to do two reviews of the film in this video – one for the more casual viewer, and another, from our resident wrestling die hard Travis Hopson. Check them out and see why we think this is one of the best movies of the year and maybe the best wrestling movie ever made.
